Students gain access to tens of thousands of LEGO® parts and expert instructors who guide them through real-world engineering challenges, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
In this Play-Well TEKnologies Robotics with LEGO® EV3 camp, students in grades 5-8 will engage in hands-on engineering challenges. They will learn to design, build, and program advanced LEGO® EV3 robots to solve complex tasks. The curriculum focuses on mechanical and software design, introducing concepts like loops and conditional statements. Students will work in small groups to construct robots that can avoid obstacles, pick up and carry objects, and play sounds. The program aims to develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills in an open-ended, investigative environment. Projects are structured to be fun and engaging, with instructors providing guidance and encouraging further exploration and modification of designs.
A typical day involves working on two different engineering and architectural projects. Each project begins with an introduction and a short presentation by the instructor, followed by a design and building assignment where students have access to tens of thousands of LEGO® parts.
This camp is best for students who are eager to explore robotics and engineering concepts through hands-on LEGO® building and programming, and who enjoy solving challenges in a collaborative setting.
